Here’s What’s Coming Up…..


There are many distractions right now in the media on the national level. Remember to take care of yourself too, though! Stay alert, progressives!

1. The Open To All Launch Event will be taking place on Monday April 10th at 5:30 PM at Wild Joes. “The Open To All Initiative encourages LGBTQ-friendly and supportive businesses to sign up and display their support for our community proudly. We hope to raise awareness and visibility for the LGBTQ community and celebrate those businesses who support LGBTQ patrons, visitors and employees.”  Event page:

2. [Rescheduled] GPAN is hosting a Grassroots Organizing Training Series led by fellow GPANer and activist Elizabeth Marum. The fifth training will now occur on Tuesday, April 11th, from 6 to 8 PM. The remaining training dates are 4/11, and 4/18. Please join us to gain the tools to be an effective activist, advocate, or defender of human rights. You do not need to have attended a previous training as this workshop has a theme independent of the others. We will be meeting in the fellowship room, downstairs in the First Baptist Church on Grand Ave. Here is the event page:

3. The GPAN Monthly Meeting will be on Thursday, April 13th at the Cold Smoke Coffee location out on Huffine Lane. “Items on the agenda include but not limited to….
– Recap of the Keystone XL protest
– Discussion and introduction on “Trump Owes Us Tax Transparency” days of action
– Signmaking for tax transparency honk and wave. We’ll have the supplies. We just ask everyone to make one sign at the meeting
– BBQ social
– Follow up on issue ID surveys and meeting locations
– Ideas on new GPAN direct actions…Wal-Mart workers protest”
4. GPAN is hosting the Trump Owes Us Transparency Days of Action from April 15th to April 19thPurpose: To have brief ongoing demonstrations that demand Trump to release his tax returns. There will be one action every day! Check out the event page for the details. Event page:

5. I Stand With Planned Parenthood Community Pint Night will be on Monday April 17th from 4-8 PM at MAP Brewing. “Come down to MAP Brewing Company and support reproductive healthcare in Montana, raise awareness of Planned Parenthood’s commitment to quality care, and raise funds to continue to provide services to those who need it in our state. MAP Brewing Company will contribute 50 cents from every glass of beer sold.” Event page:

6. Montana Women Vote are hosting a Tax Day Rally for Healthcare on Tuesday April 18th at 12 PM in front of the US Post Office on Babcock. “Tell Senator Daines NO CUTS to Medicaid or the ACA! We are facing an incredibly serious threat to access to healthcare for over 142,000 Montanans. This threatens coverage for everyone — working families, children, seniors, people with disabilities — everyone who today or in the future will rely on Medicare, Medicaid, or the Affordable Care Act.” Event page:
